By accessing or using InstanceDB, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before using our services.

1 Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using InstanceDB, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all terms, you may not access or use our services.

These terms apply to all users including visitors, developers, and contributors to the service.

2 Service Description

InstanceDB provides ephemeral, isolated database containers for development and testing purposes.

You are solely responsible for:

  • All content stored in your databases
  • Maintaining backups of important data
  • Securing your database credentials

3 Account Types & Limits

Free Tier: Limited to one active database container at a time. Containers auto-delete after 72 hours of inactivity.

Paid Plans: Will offer multiple concurrent databases, longer retention periods, and additional features (coming soon).

We reserve the right to modify these limits with reasonable notice.

4 User Responsibilities

  • Keep your account credentials secure and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintain appropriate backups as InstanceDB is not a backup service
  • Accept that we cannot recover lost credentials or data from deleted containers

5 Prohibited Uses

You may not use InstanceDB to:

  • Store or process illegal content
  • Conduct security testing or scanning against our infrastructure
  • Attempt to access other users' containers
  • Run cryptocurrency mining or other resource-intensive operations
  • Violate any third-party rights

6 Limitation of Liability

InstanceDB is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind.

Our maximum liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim (free tier users: $0).

We are not liable for:

  • Data loss or corruption
  • Service interruptions or downtime
  • Consequential or incidental damages

7 Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless InstanceDB from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your violation of these terms
  • Your infringement of any third-party rights

8 Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or service notification.

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

9 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
